My wife and I are avid RVers.  Like pretty much every RVer out there we've had our fun cut short more than once by problems with our RV.  I've taken our RV to numerous repair facilities and had to wait weeks, or even months, for what should have been simple repairs.

In a previous life I lived and worked on U.S. Navy submarines, so after one particularly frustrating experience with an RV shop I decided that an RV can't be more complicated than a nuclear submarine, right?

I started doing my own repairs and the next thing I know, I'm taking owner's courses from vendors like Lippert and Suburban and Dometic....and that snowballed into taking technical troubleshooting and repair courses from RV Technical Institute in Elkhart, Indiana; courses given by some of the same folks who design and build many of the RVs on the road in America today.  I've received certification from RVTI as a Predelivery Inspector and a Level 2 Repair Technician.

I really enjoy the freedom that accompanies the RV lifestyle, but I think that a lot of repair facilities are killing that freedom with excessive wait times and exorbitant pricing.
